Elizabeth’s encaustic paintings reflect a moment of spiritual pause, or Kairos. These abstracted landscapes are more complex than they might initially seem. Made up of layers of beeswax, pigment, and images such as charts or maps, etc, these paintings have their own backstory, have their own scars, blemishes, and moments of bliss and, in the right light, their former selves will peek through. Their layers remind us how far we have traveled. And through them, we understand how much more is left to be experienced.
